Aprils antics

I'm very late in my update this month, I decided to move my sewing room around and we all know that always makes a real mess.  Didn't seem at first that difficult a task to move the desk to the other side of the room and the cabinets that were there to where the desk had been - oh not at all, found stuff I thought I'd lost and found things I didn't know I had!

Found a real bargain in the sales a super comfy tub chair to sit a stich to my hearts content

Also found a great rotating spice rack which was perfect for storing some of my buttons in.

So to my stitching

Didn't get as much done as I had hoped as I joined Connie Gee's Diamond Sampler SAL which sucked me in and if I hadn't rum out of thead would have resulted in nothing else being done, hopefully it will come back in stock soon.

Did a little work on my Stormy from Heaven and Earth designs and my other stitching was keeping up with the Joyful World SAL and the KLT charting SAL

So plans for May are continue with my SALs and hopefully finish a new start from Just Cross Stitching to display for the start of Summer.

Busy end to the month

Been a busy Bunny this last week getting in as much stitching as I could.   Been keen to get fully finished items,  have so many things I want to stitch, I don't want them to be kept in a cupboard.

Sewing machine, scissors, pins and fabric all pulled out, very pleased with my results, but when viewing my sewing room, looks like I've been burgled!

First was Orchid Intrigue from Just Cross Stitch magazine and this was given the no sew cube treatment.

Then a piece I stitched into a zipped bag, its Thread keeper from Little House Needleworks and this will be great to keep my petite treasure braid in.

Finally I stretched and pinned over mount board Curly Q Ewe which was a Christmas present from my lovey hubbie.

Now going to start tidying up my sewing room, how is it being creative is so messy.....

Spring has Sprung and Hung

Spring has sprung and been hung!

Have finally completed my Spring Bell pull from Stoney Creek Magazine.  Set myself a tough challenge with this wanting it completed and displayed for the Spring Equinox.  I didn't quite make it but in hindsight it didn't really matter it was a couple of days late.

Had never done a bell pull finish before so looked to the trusty interweb for help,  the Twisted Stitcher  has a huge resource of finishing ideas and tutorials and made my finish a lot easier to accomplish.

Super happy with how it has turned out and cannot help smiling when I see it.

Happy Easter everyone.

Smothering Mum Day

Many years ago my Mum and I attended a Mothering Sunday Service at the local church and the Vicars wife gave the collect with a humorous story of how in this one day we spoil our mums hence Smothering Mum Day, and the message was our Mums are important all year round and we should celebrate them every day...   Here are my Mum makes and I believe she enjoyed them....

  • A little hanging for Smothering Mum Day

  • A table centrepiece for her dining table in her favourite poppy design, its reversible with the same pattern except background in white.  Then a little card made with leftover fabric.

Had a lovely stitchy day with her yesterday and I enjoyed my self even if I didn't get a whole lot of stitching done.

Feeling Sheepish

Had a good week working on Histoires De Moutons by Jardin Prive.  The sampler comes in four parts and this week I finished part three.  Am concerned the sheep don't stand out as well as they could and am thinking of outlining them.....  will need to think on that.  Crafty hugs x

Fully finish weekender

Had a plan for the weekend, had the supplies and plenty of stitched projects waiting to be fully finished. Lots of firsts like a no sew cube (very messy) and pinning work to mount board before framing (needed several plasters). Seven projects got the full treatment here are just a few. Crafty hugs xx

Stormy progress this weekend ...

So quite a busy weekend, spent loads of time with my Mum which is always a pleasure.  My weekend focus was working on my Heaven and Earth design, Stormy.  Really want to get a page finish this month as my goal at the start of the year was to have this piece finished.
